Everyone has a dream car.
They’re so stinkin’ adorable. And logical, sophisticated, well-designed, balanced, tough …
Political discussion in America has become a crutch for the intellegent to elevate themselves and their opinions above the beliefs and opinions of others. I oppose “convenience” abortion, which makes democrats call me a republican, yet I oppose “oil” wars which makes republicans call me a democrat. If you think you can truly trust either party, or that your entire moral code is represented by either, then by all means, preach your convictions. But I find it dispicable that many of the people who talk about love and justice and tolerance will rip their friends to shreds over their political convictions. If you are anywhere near my age, and you think you know everything about politics, you’re an arrogant fool. Stop making people who believe different then you feel inferior!
Nothing makes me more irate then the knowledge that both now and throughout history, people have twisted religion, and especially my christian faith, into something that makes them money, or brings them power. That is taking advantage of humans on the most basic, most sincere level. I have absolutely no sympathy for people who manipulate others, especially when it comes to matters of belief.
I’m sometimes overwhelmed at the sheer scale of humanity. Hundreds of thousands of people live in each city, and there are hundreds of thousands of cities on earth. They each have their rapists, murderers, racists, and haters, and it just seems so insurmountable at times. But hatred and violence have foundations in everyday life, and that’s where I believe we can make a difference. Mean people didn’t come out of their mothers that way, things happened to them, and they made choices how to react, and slowly, over time, they became what we see in the news. I just hope I can make some difference, somehow, to make the world a more kind, more loving place.

I was looking through an old coffee table book about Ireland, and I once again realized just how caught up in day to day life we become. People once isolated themselves in beautiful, distant places, just to learn more about God, or themselves, or simply think. Now mortgages, plans, money, and time turn visionaries into ordinary men.
…..My wonderful fiancee made me a tumblr. I always wanted one, but I am scared, and somewhat apathetic towards technology. Lets see how this goes :)
